A blog, short for web log, is a new type of Journalism that has grown out of the internet age. Merely twenty years ago, Journalists were bound to the newspaper, radio or television, and receiving jobs in those fields always required a high level of education. The main criticism of blogs today is that anyone can write them, and there is no way to verify the facts that they portray. This has started a new era of "citizen journalism" where anyone with a camera phone and an internet connection can be a Journalist and have their voice heard.
There are positive aspects of blogging though, they can do things that newspapers and radios could never dream of doing. They can interweave articles with streaming videos, graphics, and links to thousands of other sites that may be of interest. While the fact may be harder to come by in the growing age of Internet Journalism, the interactive nature that the news is being portrayed is changing the way we see the world.
So many people today are uninformed, they aren't reading the newspapers, and they aren't listening to the news on the radio. Blogging may very well be the future for an informed American citizen. In this age, reading, thinking and learning have given way to blogging, clicking and surfing. For a person who is against the institution of blogging i would ask, would you rather have a person who is informed by a blog, or not informed at all?

Nicely written and thought out.
Now, watch the style and typos. Read before posting and you'll catch errors like "i" instead of "I" at the end.
Journalism is not capitalized (however important we think it is) and numbers above 10 are generally spelled out. You've written twenty years ago...
